Interview with Julia Ling - MediaBlvd - May 2010

Julia Ling discusses "Studio 60 and the Sunset Strip," how she got started in acting, her role models in the industry, and of course Chuck and Anna Wu!

MediaBlvd> How and when did you get started in acting?

Julia> I’ve always been really artsy since I was like three years old.  I did dancing, singing, played the piano, painting and acting, and stuff like that.  When I was in high school, I studied with Mae Welter who put together the showcase for acting, and from that showcase, there were several agencies in the audience who offered to sign with me right after they watched me perform.  So, that’s kind of how I got started.

MediaBlvd>  That’s pretty cool!  Do you have a role that you would consider to be your favorite?

Julia> It would definitely be Anna Wu from “Chuck.”  She kicks ass!  She wears wild makeup, you know, short skirts and lots of bling – just so much fun to wear!  But I can’t really wear all that around town without consequences [laughs], so I get away with it on the show!
